On the adaptability of linear controllers (Q1290220)

For linear dynamic systems \[ \begin{aligned} \dot x & = Ax+ Bu,\quad x(t_0)= x_0,\quad u(t_0)= u_0,\\ y & = Cx+ d,\quad d(t_0)= d_0\end{aligned} \] a method for analyzing their linear controllers by examining the structural properties of adaptability is proposed. Canonical decompositions of the adaptability matrices are obtained. New algorithms for controller tuning are synthesized and necessary and sufficient conditions for the complete, weak and partial adaptability of a system are proved.
