The author explicitly determinate the dependence of coefficients of generalized symmetries of partial differential equations from specific finite-dimensional subspaces of generalized symmetries, using the adjoint action of infinitesimal translations. An idea consists in studying the adjoint action of Lie symmetries on the Lie algebra of all generalized symmetries, because the operator \(ad_L\) possesses a matrix presentation on the linear space of the generalized symmetries of order not higher than given natural number. The symmetries of one-dimensional free Schrödinger equation are considered. The author establishes the connection of these results with the theory of quasi-exactly solvable models.
