During the last years, the geometrical study of various generalizations of Poisson structures to \(n\)-brackets has caused a renewed interest. These generalizations differ from the fundamental identity which would play the rôle of the Jacobi identity. See, for instance, \textit{A. Azcárraga, A. M. Perelomov} and \textit{J. C. Pérez Bueno} [J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 29, L151--L157 (1996; Zbl 0912.53019)]. The author shows that there are other ways, intermediate between the Nambu brackets and generalized Poisson brackets, to extend the Jacobi identity for \(n\)-brackets (\(n\geq 3\)) considering different choices of the length of the symmetric group. For each of them, the author gives ``an equivalent formulation in terms of properties of the adjoint map and an appropriated algebraic auto-bracket providing a cohomology adapted to deformation theory''. The case of Nambu-Lie algebras is also considered where new identities arise.
