The author studies extended affine Weyl groups of extended affine root systems, which correspond to extended affine Lie algebras. Extended affine Lie algebras and extended affine root systems are defined axiomatically and naturally generalize the notions of affine Lie algebras and the corresponding root systems. The main object of study is the corresponding Weyl group. The author starts with a description of an extended affine Weyl group as a semidirect product of a finite Weyl group and a Heisenberg-type normal subgroup. In particular, this gives a unique expression for the elements of the Weyl group in terms of naturally arisen transformations. This is further used to give a presentation, called presentation by conjugations, for Weyl groups of extended affine root systems of index zero. The author also discusses the notion of a basis for extended affine root systems, generalizing a special characterization of a basis for a finite or affine root system.
