Fuzzy differential equations have been studied on the metric space \((E^n,D)\) of normal, convex, upper semicontinuous and compactly supported fuzzy sets in \(\mathbb{R}^n\), where \(D\) is the maximum of the Hausdorff distances between corresponding level sets in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). The Peano theorem does not hold for fuzzy differential equations on \((E^n,D)\). The authors deal with the Cauchy problem for fuzzy differential equations. Existence theorems under compactness-type conditions are obtained.
