Let \(v\) be a polynomial vector field in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) and let \(\mathcal F\) be the holomorphic foliation. The leaves of \(\mathcal F\) are, in general, very complex from the point of view of their intrinsic and extrinsic topologies. The author is interested in leaves which can be considered as the most simple: the leaves of finite topological type and properly embedded in \(\mathbb{C}^2.\) The existence of such leaves frequently implies severe constraints. The main result of the paper is the following theorem: Let \(\mathcal F\) be a foliation of \(\mathbb{C}^2\) generated by a polynomial vector field at which the leaf \(L\) has the flat isolated end \(L_0\) properly embedded and transcendental. Then there exists a polynomial \(P:\mathbb C^2\to \mathbb{C},\) at which the arbitrary fibre is \(\mathbb{C}\) or \(\mathbb{C}^\ast,\) such that \(\mathcal F\) is \(P\)-complete. Moreover, the end \(L_0\) is at infinity with respect to \(P,\) or \(\mathcal F\) is holomorphically conjugate to the foliation induced by a field of constant vectors; these two opportunities are not excluded.
