It is proved that a transitive permutation group \(G\) of degree \(n\) having a cyclic point-stabilizer has order at most \(n(n-1)\). The proof uses methods introduced by \textit{A. Chermak} and \textit{A. Delgado} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 107, No. 4, 907-914 (1989; Zbl 0687.20022)].
