A group \(G\) is said to be locally graded if every finitely generated non-trivial subgroup of \(G\) has a finite non-trivial homomorphic image. The authors prove that, if \(d\) is any positive integer, a locally graded group \(G\) satisfies the minimal condition on subgroups which are not soluble with derived length at most \(d\) if and only if either \(G\) is soluble with derived length at most \(d\), or it is a Chernikov group, or \(G\) contains a normal subgroup \(N\) such that \(G/N\) is a soluble Chernikov group and \(N\) is one of the groups \(\text{SL}(2,K)\), \(\text{PSL}(2,K)\), \(^2B_2(K)\) or \(^2G_2(K)\), where \(K\) is a locally finite field satisfying the minimal condition on subfields.
