A classical result of Bernstein states that if a periodic function \(f\in \text{Lip }\alpha\) for some \(\alpha> 1/2\), then its Fourier series converges absolutely. Later, \textit{J. M. Hyslop} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 43, 475-483 (1937; Zbl 0018.12004)] extended Bernstein's theorem by using absolute Cesàro summability. Namely, Hyslop proved that if \(f\in \text{Lip }\alpha\) for some \(0<\alpha\leq 1/2\), then the Fourier series of \(f\) is summable \(|C,\beta|\) whenever \(\alpha+ \beta> 1/2\). The present author considers the more general case of absolute Nörlund summability \(|N,p_n|\). First, he obtains an estimate on the modulus of continuity of the sum of random Fourier series. Second, he applies this estimate to deduce a number of known results as well as some new sufficient conditions for the absolute Nörlund summability of Fourier series.
