Many authors have investigated various interrelations between the maximum modulus \(M(\cdot, f)\) of a holomorphic function \(f\) and the maximal term \(\mu (\cdot, f)\) of a series representing \(f\), for different classes of \(f\). The present authors establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the inequalities of the following kind \[ M(\sigma, f) \leq \text{const.}\mu (\frac{\sigma }{1- \beta)}, f)^{1 - \beta }, \quad 0 \leq \beta < 1, \] to be valid for the Dirichlet series \(f(s) = \sum b_n \exp \{s \lambda _n \},\) \(s= \sigma + it,\) absolutely convergent in a strip \(0 \leq \sigma < A \leq \infty \). Omitting the exact statements, we only mention that the exponents \(\lambda _n\) are real numbers, not necessary monotone, but must contain an infinite subsequence of positive terms.
