Systems of linear interval equations, \(Ax =b\), are considered where \(A\) is a quadratic interval matrix and \(b\) an interval vector. In contrast to the usual interval arithmetic solution concept is an algebraic solution defined as an interval vector \(x_0\) which satisfies the system, that is, \(Ax_0= b\). In the paper conditions are derived which are sufficient for existence and uniqueness of an algebraic solution \(x_0\) and for an iterative algorithm of Jacobi type to converge to \(x_0\).
