Using the torque approach, the authors obtain new series for rigid Earth nutations of the angular momentum axis, the rotation axis, and the figure axis. The series are obtained by a method based on the Lagrangian equations which take into account the rigid Earth response to the torques induced by Moon and Sun. Additionally, the authors take into account planetary effects, effects due to the triaxiality of the Earth, and relativistic effects. These series are compared with existing rigid Earth models, with results of numerical integrations, and with recent observations. The maximum difference in time domain amounts to 69 microseconds of arc in longitude and 29 microseconds of arc in latitude. In the frequency domain, the corresponding maximum differences are 6 and 4 microseconds, which agrees with the accuracy of observations.
