Using a factorization of units into positive real functions with invertible value at \(\infty\), necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions for interpolation with rational units are formulated. An efficient algorithm to compute units, which is guaranteed to terminate in a finite number of steps when the data set has the parity interlacing property is given. A procedure to construct a stable stabilizing controller is given, and some examples are illustrating the results.
