Jap. 45, No. 3, 497-501 (1997; Zbl 0897.22005)] and some new results on the problem of existence of dense proper pseudocompact subgroups \(H\) of a compact non metrizable group \(G\). Different levels of difficulty are considered, depending on the level of pseudocompactness of \(H\) (countably compact, \(\omega\)-bounded) or on the size of the distinguished family of such subgroups \(H\) of \(G\). In some cases, the maximum size \(2^{|G|}\) of such a family can be attained (e.g., when \(G\) is product-like, i.e., \(G\) admits a continuous surjective homomorphism onto a product of \(w(G)\) many non-trivial compact metric groups).
