Let \(G\) be a compact Lie group, and let \(S_G\) denote the corresponding equivariant sphere spectrum in the sense of \textit{A. D. Elmendorf, I. Kriz, M. A. Mandell}, and \textit{J. P. May} [Rings, modules, and algebras in stable homotopy theory, Math. Surv. Monogr. 47 (1997; Zbl 0894.55001)]. Given an \(S_G\)-algebra \(R_G\) the author defines the notion of an ``underlying nonequivariant algebra'', which in particular also is an algebra over the nonequivariant (highly structured) sphere spectrum. Provided \(R_G\) and an underlying nonequivariant algebra \(R\) satisfy a certain technical condition, the author can assign to any \(R\)-module \(M\) an \(R_G\)-module \(M_G:=R_G\wedge_R M\). He shows that his assignment defines a monoidal functor from the category of \(R\)-modules to the category of \(R_G\)-modules, and that it induces a corresponding monoidal functor between the derived categories. The latter is then used to establish a spectral sequence (with \(E_2\) term \(\text{Tor}^{R_*}_{*,*}(R^G_*,M_*)\)) converging to the coefficients of \(M_G\). Finally the author shows that the equivariant complex bordism spectrum \(MU_G\) and its nonequivariant counterpart \(MU\) satisfy the technical condition mentioned above. The construction therefore can be used to define equivariant versions of the Morava \(K\)-theories \(k(n)\) and \(K(n)\) and other classical \(MU\)-module spectra. In particular, it also leads to an equivariant version of periodic \(K\)-theory. The author believes that his construction \(MU_G\wedge_{MU} K\) represents standard equivariant \(K\)-theory.
