The author continues his very fine work in cohomological dimension. He proves that every compactum \(X\), having rational dimension \(n\), is an image under a rationally acyclic map of an \((n+1)\)-dimensional compactum \(Y\). If \(n>1\), then \(\dim_QY=n\). As a consequence he obtains existence of rational homology \(k\)-manifolds with covering dimension greater than \(k\).
