\textit{S. Heilpern} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 83, 566-569 (1981; Zbl 0486.54006)] first introduced the concept of fuzzy mappings and proved a fixed-point theorem for fuzzy contraction mappings, which is a fuzzy analogue of the fixed-point theorems for multi-valued mappings [\textit{M.-P. Chen} and \textit{M.-H. Shih}, ibid. 71, 516-524 (1979; Zbl 0439.47047); \textit{T. Husain} and \textit{A. Latif}, Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 14, No. 3, 421-430 (1991; Zbl 0736.54030); \textit{S. B. Nadler} jun., Pac. J. Math. 30, 475-488 (1969; Zbl 0187.45002)] and the well-known Banach fixed point theorem. \textit{R. K. Bose} and \textit{D. Sahani} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 21, 53-58 (1987; Zbl 0609.54032)] extended Heilpern's result for a pair of generalized fuzzy contraction mappings. \textit{B. S. Lee} and \textit{S. J. Cho} [ibid. 61, No. 3, 309-312 (1994; Zbl 0831.54036)] generalized Heilpern's result for contractive-type fuzzy mappings. In this paper the authors establish a common fixed point theorem for a pair of fuzzy mappings satisfying certain conditions, which is a generalization of the results of Bose and Sahani [loc. cit.] and of Lee and Cho [loc. cit.].
