Combining two concepts, order-homomorphisms [\textit{G.-J. Wang}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 12, 281-288 (1984; Zbl 0553.06015)] and bi-induced mappings [\textit{He Ming}, Kexue Tongbao 31, 475 (1986)], the author introduces a new mapping among \(L_1^X\) and \(L_2^Y\), the so-called generalized Zadeh function. The new mapping has almost all the fine properties of the Zadeh function and does not require the condition \(L_1= L_2\).
