In the paper the authors construct a new interpolation process \(H_n(f,x)\) of S. N. Bernstein based on zeros of the first kind of Chebyschev polynomials of degree \(n\). They show that the convergence order of \(H_n(f,x)\) reaches the order of best approximation if \(f\in C^j_{[-1,1]}\), \(0\leq j\leq 3\). They also prove that \(H_n(f,x)\) satisfies the Ditzian-Totik theorem.
