\textit{V. I. Arnold} [Appendix 9 in ``Mathematical methods in classical mechanics'' Nauka, Moskva) (1989; Zbl 0692.70003)] obtained a relation between the number of fixed points of self-diffeomorphisms (exact or Hamiltonian) of a closed symplectic manifold \((M,\omega)\) and the minimal number of critical points of smooth \(C^\infty\)-functions on \(M\). Here, by usage of a fundamental property of category weight, it is shown that this relation is equality for any closed symplectic manifold whose symplectic form vanishes on the image of the Hurewicz map.
