    This paper concerns the reaction-diffusion system \[ \left. \begin{aligned} \partial_tS & = d_0\partial^2_x S- v\partial_x S- u_1f_1(S)- u_2f_2(S),\\ \partial_t u_i & = d_i\partial^2_x u_i- v\partial_x u_i+ u_i(f_i(S)- k_i), i=1,2\end{aligned} \right\} 0<x<1, \] with boundary conditions \[ d_0\partial_x S(0,t)- v S(0,t)= -vS_0(t), \] \[ \left. \begin{aligned} d_i\partial_x u_i(0,t)& - vu_i(0,t)= 0,\\ \partial_x S(1,t) & = \partial_x u_i(1,t)= 0,\end{aligned}\right\} i= 1,2 \] and nonnegative initial conditions. Here \(d_0\), \(d_i\), \(v\) (resp. \(k_i\)) are positive (resp. nonnegative) constants, and \(S_0\) is nonnegative and \(\omega\)-periodic with \(\omega>0\). First the special case, where \(d_i= d_0\) and \(k_i= 0\) for \(i= 1,2\), is considered. Using techniques of monotone dynamical systems, it is shown that there exists an \(\omega\)-periodic solution with \(u_i(t,x)= 0\) with the following properties: If it is linearly stable then it is globally stable while if it is unstable then there exists an globally stable \(\omega\)-periodic solution with \(u_i(t,x)> 0\). Using theorems on perturbation of global attractors, these results are carried over to the case \(d_i\approx d_0\) and \(k_i\approx 0\).
