An injectivity result for Hermitian forms over local orders (Q1300136)

Given a ring with involution \(R\), a natural object of study is the set \(H(R)\) of equivalence classes (with respect to congruence) of the involution-invariant units of \(R\). In this paper \(R\) is an order in a semisimple algebra \(A\) over a local field, and the authors find sufficient conditions under which the natural map from \(H(R)\) to \(H(A)\) is injective. Applications are given to the hermitian \(K\)-theory of local group rings.
