This paper deals with the location of zeros of polynomials satisfying a recurrence relation of the form \[ P_{n+1}(z) = (z+b_n) P_n(z) - (\alpha_n z^2+ \beta_n z + \gamma_n) P_{n-1}(z), \] with periodic coefficients (period \(p\)). The case when \(\alpha_n=\beta_n=0\) for all \(n\) (which gives orthogonal polynomials) is treated in more detail, and it is shown that the zeros are dense in the set \(E\) of real numbers for which \(|Q_p(x)|< 2\sqrt{a_1\cdots a_p}\), where \(Q_p\) is a polynomial of degree \(p\). Periodicity of order 2 (\(p=2\)) is worked out in detail. In this case the set \(E\) consists of two intervals. The paper has two mysterious figures which seem to be incomplete.
