The authors present another way to prove the KAM theorem for analytic Hamiltonians. The equation operator is split into a small and large denominator part, where small and large are defined with respect to a scale of order unity. The proof is based on the quantum field theory formulation of the problem and a renormalization group argument treating the small denominators inductively scale by scale. The crucial cancellations of resonances follow from Ward identities expressing the translation invariance of the corresponding field theory.
