The authors study a two-parameter unfolding of a four-dimensional symplectic \(C^r\)-diffeomorphism (\(r\geq 5\)) having a saddle-focus fixed point (with multipliers \(\rho^{\pm 1}\exp(\pm i\varphi_0)\)) with a simplest nontransverse homoclinic orbit \(\Gamma\) to it. Let \(\mu_1, \mu_2\) be unfolding parameters with \(\mu_1=0, \mu_2=0\) corresponding to the initial diffeomorphism. The main theorem is: There is a neighborhood \(U\) of \((0,0)\) in the parameter plane such that in \(U\) there exists a countable set of regions \(V_i\) accumulating \((0,0)\) such that if \((\mu_1, \mu_2)\in V_i\) then the related diffeomorphism has in some neighborhood of \(\Gamma\) a 1-round periodic orbit of the general elliptic type. The main ingredient of the proof is the asymptotic reduction of the derived map near \(\Gamma\) to a standard Hénon-like 4-diffeomorphism which describes main bifurcations in the unfolding.
