Let \(X\subset \mathbb{R}^{n} \) and \(H(X)\) be the set of all homeomorphisms from \(X\) onto \(X\) endowed with the uniform metric. Properties interesting from the point of view of dynamics of functions in \(H(X)\) and generic in \(H(X)\) (i. e. the set of functions that do not satisfy it is of the first category) are studied. It is shown that functions in \(H(X)\) generically have uncountably many periodic points of period \(m\) for each \(m\geq 1\) but no attractive cycles. Other generic properties concern the set of periodic points, sensitivity to initial conditions and existence of attractors with certain properties.
