The author considers the nonlinear Maxwell equations \[ \varepsilon E_t+ \sigma(x,|E|)E= \nabla\times H+F, \quad H_t+\nabla\times E=0, \] where \(\sigma(x,s)\) is a monotonic graph of \(s\). It is shown that the system has a weak solution. A uniform estimate for the solution is first derived. Next, the finite element method is employed to establish the well-posedness of the problem for \(\varepsilon> 0\). Finally, assuming the monotonicity of \(\varepsilon(x,s)\) with \(s\), it is established that the solution of the system has a unique limit \((\varepsilon\to 0)\), which solves the quasi-stationary Maxwell's equation.
