Let \(\mathbb{F}_n\) be the class of polynomials \(f(z)= \sum^n_{j=0} a_jz^j\) of degree at most \(n\). For \(f\in \mathbb{F}_n\) define \[ \|f\|_p= \Biggl\{{1\over 2\pi} \int^{2\pi}_0|f(e^{i\theta})|^p d\theta\Biggr\}^{1/p},\quad 0<p<\infty \] and \[ \|f\|_\infty= \max_{|z|= 1} |f(z)|. \] Several inequalities in \(L_p\) norms with \(p\geq 1\) or \(p=\infty\) of Bernstein type are known in the literature for the polynomials in the class \(\mathbb{F}_n\) or under additional assumptions on the polynomial \(f\) (e.g. \(f(z)\neq 0\) in \(|z|< 1\)). \textit{V. V. Arestov} [Anal. Math. 17, No. 1, 11-20 (1991; Zbl 0748.30005)] found an elegant method which allows to extend them to the case \(0<p<1\). Using the ideas of Arestov, the authors proved some new inequalities of \(L_p\)-type for the class \(\mathbb{F}_n\) or its subclasses. For instance the following interesting result is proved: If \(f\in\mathbb{F}_n\) and \(f(z)\) does not vanish in \(|z|<1\), then for every \(p>0\) and \(R\geq 1\), \[ \|f(Rz)- f(z)\|_p\leq {(\mathbb{R}^n- 1)\over\|1+ z^n\|_p} \|f\|_p. \] The result is best possible and equality holds for \(f(z)= az^n+ b\), \(|a|=|b|\).
