A sequence \(\{x_n\}\) in \(X\) is strongly almost convergent to an element \(x\) of \(X\) if the strong limit \(\lim(1/n) \sum^{n- 1}_{i= 0} x_{i+k}= x\) uniformly in \(k= 0,1,2,\dots\)\ . One of two main results of the paper states that if \(T\) is asymptotically nonexpansive in the intermediate sense, \(x\in X\) and \(\lim\|T^{n+ i}x- T^nx\|\) exists uniformly in \(i= 1,2,\dots\), then \(\{T^n\}\) is strongly almost convergent to a fixed point of \(T\).
