The paper considers an optimal control problem for the wave equation (in one or two spatial dimensions) with a control, depending only on time, in the right-hand side. Via the expansions in Fourier series the problem is reduced to the moment problem, which is approximated by a linear programming problem with respect to piecewise constant controls. Numerical examples are given.
