Let \(\mathcal C\) be a fixed braided category and \(H\) a Hopf algebra in \(\mathcal C\). It is shown that the category \(^H_H{\mathcal C}^H_H\) of Hopf bimodules in \(\mathcal C\) is isomorphic as a braided category to the category \(\mathcal{DY(C)}^H_H\) of Drinfeld-Yetter modules. For two objects \(B_1,B_2\) in \(\mathcal C\) the authors introduce a cross bialgebra product \(B_1\times B_2\) on \(B_1\otimes B_2\) which depends on a pair of morphisms \(\phi\colon B_1\otimes B_2\to B_2\otimes B_1\), \(\psi\colon B_2\otimes B_1\to B_1\otimes B_2\). A bialgebra \(B\) in \(\mathcal C\) is isomorphic to \(B_1\times B_2\) if and only if there exist idempotents \(\Pi_1,\Pi_2\in\text{End}(B)\) with some special properties. The next bicrossed product \(B_1\bowtie B_2\) considered in the paper generalizes Majid's bicrossed product. It is shown that Radford's 4-parameter Hopf algebra is a bicrossed product. It is necessary to mention that the authors permanently explain all arising relations in terms of braided diagrams. So all complicated commutator-type relations are hidden in these diagrams.
