The text is a short exposition of the author's joint work with \textit{O. Sheinman} [J. Math. Sci., New York 92, 3807-3834 (1998; Zbl 1006.17503)] on the global approach to defining the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations for the higher genus Riemann surfaces. The Sugawara construction for multi-point KN-algebras is the key moment needed to generalize the construction of the KZ-equations. The proofs are absent or just sketched briefly.
