The authors analyze the dynamical behavior of a rotating blade with a tip mass. A generalized model is used that incorporates transverse shear and secondary warping, together with centrifugal and Coriolis forces. The adaptive capabilities are introduced by piezoactuators. The authors investigate the possibilities of vibration control. The results presented can be of importance for the study of wind turbines, helicopter blades and autocooling fans.
