Let \(A\) be a finite dimensional \(K\)-algebra. The author shows that \(A\) is a Frobenius algebra if and only if it has a coassociative counital comultiplication which is a map of left \(A^e(=A\otimes A^{\text{op}})\)-modules. In this case, the category of right \(A\)-modules is isomorphic to the category of right comodules over \(A\). Finally, a description of the derived functors of the cotensor product using the Hochschild cohomology is obtained.
