Stability analysis of general linear periodic systems depending on real parameters is considered. First, a short review of results on the stability analysis of solutions to differential equations with periodic coefficients is presented. It is concluded that the Floquet method is the more effective method for multidegree-of-freedom systems. The Floquet method and the Floquet matrix (or the monodromy matrix) are presented. Then, in a multiparameter space, first- and second-order derivatives of the Floquet matrix are obtained. The multipliers of the periodical system are the basis of the stability analysis. Based on the derivatives of the Floquet matrix first- and second-order sensitivities of the multipliers are derived. To make clear the large amount of information included in the sensitivity analysis the authors, first, apply the method to an analytical example -- the Mathieu equation, then, to some two-degree-of-freedom systems including the Carson-Cambi equations.
