The flow configuration is studied wherein a sharp density interface is sandwiched between two turbulent layers with dissimilar properties. The authors consider a fluctuating velocity field adjacent to the interface. The graphs for frequency spectra of vertical and horizontal velocity fluctuations are presented for two values of Richardson number and for five values of turbulent layer integral lengthscale ratios. The quasi-steady analysis proposed by the authors can serve as a practical means of estimating bulk interfacial properties that change slowly with time. The authors also present the graphs of variation of vertical r.m.s. velocity with Richardson number.
