The function \(\psi(t)\) is called an orthogonal mother wavelet, if \(\{2^{m/2} \psi (2^mt-n)\), \(m,n\in \mathbb{Z}\}\), the discretized form of \(\psi(t)\), constitutes an orthonormal basis in the space \(L^2(-\infty,\infty)\). A kind of mother wavelet with good properties is constructed for any \(N\geq 2\), which is \(N\) times differentiable, converges to zero of order \(O(|t|^{-N})\) \((t\to\infty)\) and has \(N-2\) order of vanishing movement and some properties of symmetry meanwhile. A computation example for \(N=4\) is also given.
