In the classical version of l'Hôpital's rule for a quotient \(f/g\) of two functions on \((a,b)\) with \(\lim_{x\to a} g(x)=\infty\), the following hypotheses are standard: (i) \(f\) and \(g\) are real-valued; (ii) \(f\) and \(g\) are differentiable throughout \((a,b)\); (iii) \(g'\neq 0\) in some neighborhood of \(a\). Various generalizations with weaker versions of (ii) and (iii) have appeared; several from the past fifteen years are cited. The present paper gives a generalization in which (i) is weakened to allow \(g\) to take its values in a real or complex Banach algebra \(A\) and \(f\) to take values in a Banach module over \(A\). Conditions (ii) and (iii) are weakened as well.
