Let \(0 < \lambda_ 1 < \lambda_ 2 <\cdots\) be an unbounded sequence of real numbers. For any real number \(l\) representable as a linear combination of the numbers \(\lambda_ \nu\) with nonnegative integer coefficients, let \(p(l)\) denote the number of such representations, i.e., the number of partitions of \(l\) into parts from the sequence \(\{\lambda_ \nu\}\), and for \(y > 0\) let \(p_ y(l)\) denote the number of such partitions which are free of parts less than \(y\). In the first part of this series [Acta Arith. 54, 257-271 (1990; Zbl 0702.11068)], the author established an asymptotic estimate for the logarithm of the summatory function \(P_ y(u) = \sum_{l\leq u}p_ y(l)\) under some mild growth conditions on the sequence \(\{\lambda_ \nu\}\), which was valid uniformly in \(y\) as long as \(y\) was not too large; in particular, in the classical case (i.e., when \(\lambda_ \nu = \nu\) for all \(\nu\)) his result gave an estimate for \(\log P_ y(u)\) for the range \(y = o(\sqrt{u})\). In the present paper, the author proves a similar estimate for the case when the parameter \(y\) is large, which in the classical case yields \[ \log P_ y(u) = {u\over y}\log {y^ 2\over u} - {u\over y}\log\log {y^ 2\over u} + {u\over y} + O_ \varepsilon \left({u\log\log u\over y\log u}\right) \] uniformly for \(u^{1/2+\varepsilon} \leq y \leq u^{1-\varepsilon}\), as \(u \to \infty\). He also gives similar results for partitions into distinct parts. As in part I, these results are derived from an appropriate Tauberian theorem.
