Transcendence and algebraic independence of values of certain gap power series at algebraic points are proven. Here, in contrast to former considerations especially of \textit{P. Bundschuh} [Osaka J. Math. 25, 849- 858 (1988; Zbl 0712.11041)] and \textit{Y. Zhu} [Acta Arith. 50, 295-308 (1988; Zbl 0658.10041)] the whole takes place in a complete, algebraic closed field \(K\) of any characteristic. The citation of Corollar 2 may serve as an example for the results obtained: ``\(\alpha \in K\), \(\alpha\) algebraic, \(0<| \alpha |<1\). The set \[ \left\{ \sum_{n \geq 1} \alpha^{[n^{n + \tau}]} \mid \tau \in \mathbb{R},\quad 0 \leq \tau < 1 \right \} \] is a continuum of algebraic independent numbers from \(K\)''. The proof uses conditions for transcendence and algebraic independence coming from general Liouville estimates.
