    Continuing some previous investigations, in particular in Astron. Astrophys. 238, No. 1/2, 413-423 (1990; Zbl 0733.70013), and Celest. Mech. Dyn. Astron. 54, 71-89 (1992), the authors present the results of numerical experiments with the model problem \[ x(n+1) = x(n) + a\sin(x(n) + y(n)) + b \sin(x(n) + y(n) + z(n) + w(n)), \] \[ z(n+1) = z(n) + c\sin(z(n) + w(n)) + d\sin (x(n) + y(n) + z(n) + w(n)), \] \[ y(n+1) = x(n) + y(n),\quad w(n+1) = z(n) + w(n), \] especially the evolution in time of Lyapunov indicators for the real and the synthetic mapping. The results reveal the exploding diffusion phenomena for temporarily confined chaotic orbits which satisfy the Poisson law for the real mapping, but not for the synthetic one.
