    Let \(p\) be a fixed prime and let \(X\) be a finite CW spectrum with trivial rational homology. By [\textit{M. J. Hopkins}, Lond. Math. Soc. Lect. Note Ser. 117, 73-96 (1987; Zbl 0657.55008)] there exists a self-map \(v : \Sigma^ d X \to X\), inducing multiplication by \(v_ 1\) on the first Morava \(K\)-theory, \(K(1)_ *\). Any two choices of \(v\) become homotopic when composed sufficiently often so that the telescope \[ v_ 1^{-1} X = \lim_{- \to} (X \to \Sigma^{-d} X \to \Sigma^{-2d} X \to \dots ) \] is well-defined. A spherically resolved space is any \(Y\) for which there is a sequence of fibrations \(Y_{i - 1} \to Y_ i \to \Omega^{k_ i} S^{m_ i}\) with \(Y_ 0 = *\) and \(Y_ n = Y\). For such a space there exist integers \(e\) and \(L\) such that the \(p^ e\)-th power map on \(\Omega^ L Y\) is nullhomotopic. Using a null-homotopy of this map together with an Adams map on a \(\bmod p^ e\) Moore space one obtains a map, \(A: \Omega^ L Y \to \Omega^{L + s} Y\), for suitable \(s\). The telescope \[ \text{Tel}_ 1(Y) = \lim_{- \to} (\Omega^ L Y @>A>> \Omega^{L +s} Y @>\Delta>> \Omega^{L + 2s} Y \to \dots) \] is a \(p\)-local \(\Omega\)-spectrum. The authors prove that there exists a map \(f : X \to Y\) inducing \(v^{-1}_ 1 X \to \text{Tel}_ 1(Y)\) which is an equivalence of spectra. This result is useful in computing \(v^{-1}_ 1 \pi_ *(X)\) when \(X\) is a Lie group.
