A \((t,k)\)-structure is an incidence structure with the following properties: (i) any \(t\) distinct points are incident with a unique block; (ii) the set of points incident with an arbitrary block has cardinality \(k\). \textit{P. Quattrocchi} and \textit{L. A. Rosati} [Geom. Dedicata 44, No. 2, 233-240 (1992; Zbl 0773.51007)] introduced a procedure for transforming a \((t,k)\)-structure into another one whenever certain conditions are satisfied. This procedure is powerful, because it enables one to link together several results obtained earlier. In the present paper the author generalizes the procedure of Quattrocchi and Rosati. This gives a fairly simple way of obtaining some more known results.
