An interesting infinite product (Q1312738)

The authors generalise the infinite products introduced by \textit{Z. A. Melzak} [Am. Math. Mon. 68, 39--41 (1961; Zbl 0103.04404)] by considering the function \[ D(x):= \lim_{n \to \infty} \prod^{2n+1}_{k=1} \left( 1+{x \over k} \right)^{(-1)^{k+1}k}. \] The authors obtain may interesting properties of the function \(D(x)\).
