The author continues his work on Markov maps in \(\mathbb{R}^ d\). Let \(\phi: I\to I\) \((I \subset \mathbb{R}^ d)\) be such a transformation and \(\pi\) its defining Markov partition. He proved in [Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 88, No. 4, 483-496 (1991; Zbl 0723.60089)] that there exists exactly one \(\phi\)-invariant probabilistic density \(g_ 0 \in G = \{g \in L',\;g\geq 0, \| g\| = 1\}\) such that \(\lim_{j \to \infty} p^ j_ \phi g = g_ 0\) \((g \in G)\) where \(p_ \phi\) is the Frobenius-Perron operator associated with \(\phi\). This means that \(\phi\) is an exact endomorphism of the probability space \((I,\Sigma,\mu)\) where \(d\mu = g_ 0dm\). Thus the natural extension of \(\phi\) is a \(\mathcal K\)-automorphism. In the present paper the author shows that this extension is actually isomorphic to a Bernoulli shift. This is achieved by showing that \(\pi\) is a weak Bernoulli partition for \(\phi\).
