Some extension are formulated for a wide class of problems of the deformation theory of plasticity for three- and two-dimensional problems with the von Mises and Scheicher-Moreau yield criteria. In new formulations the displacement discontinuities are allowed. These partial extensions are single and can be used efficiently to obtain numerical solutions. It is shown that if the discontinuity line is piecewise continuous, the existence of the saddle point of the modified Lagrangian gives an integral inequality which imposes certain conditions on the trace of the stress tensor on the discontinuity line. The existence of discontinuity in the axisymmetrical problem with von Mises criterion implies that the line of discontinuity may approach the free surface of cylindrical body at the angle of \(\pm 45^ \circ\) to the generatrix, which agrees with experimental data.
