The authors study the large-time behavior of solutions of an inhomogeneous conservation law \[ u_ t + f(u)_ x = g(u), \quad t>0, \quad x \in \mathbb{R}, \] with periodic initial data in BV, assuming \(f\) is convex and \(C^ 2\), \(g\) has finitely many zeroes, and \(ug(u)>0\) for sufficiently large \(u\). The authors prove results concerning the \(\omega\)-limit set of the solution, showing in particular that it is either a zero of \(g\) or a travelling wave with speed related to a zero of \(g\). The fundamental tool in the analysis is the method of generalized characteristics developed by Defermos.
