An application of the generalized alternating polynomials to the numerical solution of Fredholm integral equations (Q1315225)

The paper deals with the approximation to the solution of linear Fredholm integral equations of the second kind by generalized alternating polynomials, which have been introduced by the author [IMA J. Numer. Anal. 6, 125-136 (1986; Zbl 0597.41006)]. The proposed method may be considered as an economized (in the sense of Lanczos) collocation method. The author states a convergence result and discusses estimators of the approximation error.
