Quadrature formulae based on quasi-interpolating splines are proposed for the numerical evaluation of integrals with an \(L^ 1\)-kernel and of Cauchy principal value integrals. The suggested scheme imposes no restriction on the order of the splines and very few restrictions on the spacing of the knots. A bound for the quadrature error and a convergence result for continuous functions are given. A description of the numerical algorithm and the computational procedures are presented.
