The author considers a general approximation-solvability scheme for the nonlinear equation \(Ax=b\) governed by an \({\mathcal A}\)-regular operator \(A\) from \(X\) to \(Y\), where \(X\) and \(Y\) are infinite-dimensional normed spaces over a field \(K\). An operator \(A:X \to Y\) is \({\mathcal A}\)-regular w.r.t. an approximation scheme \(\pi_ 0 = \{X_ n, Y_ n,E_ n,R_ n,Q_ n\}\) iff for all sequences \(\{x_ n\}\) with \(\lim_ n \| A_ n X_ n- Q_ nb \|_{Y_ n}=0\), there is a subsequence \(\{X_ n'\} \subset \{X_ n\}\) and an \(x \in X\) such that \( \lim \| X_ n-R_ nx \|_{X_ n}=0\) and \(Ax=b\), where \(X_ n \subset X\), \(Y_ n \subset Y\), \(E_ n\), \(R_ n\) and \(Q_ n\) are connection operators. Instead of the above-mentioned equation, the author considers approximation equations \(A_ nx_ n=Q_ nb\) \((n=1,2,\dots)\) and proves that the solvability of the original equation is equivalent to its discretely unique approximation-solvability, or the \({\mathcal A}\)-regularity of the governing operator \(A\) under certain assumptions. Moreover, the author also proves that \(A\) is \({\mathcal A}\)-regular if \(A:X \to X^*\) is continuous and uniformly monotone.
